I think the really interesting thing are the wider questions this topic is posing.
How do we determine which records are relevant or appropriate to save? Which of the following factors are important?
Geographical area
Time period
Extent and scope of practice
Continuity of one dentist’s care
I guess it’s a combination of these things. From a genealogical point of view, access to such records can be gold dust. I’ve had some genealogical colleagues use medical notes and reports to flesh out client studies of historical individuals, especially so in Scotland.
